To lie with you

The sorrow inside and the happiness outside,

Why is it so that the most beautiful are plagued.

That the worst of humankind are so gay.

The black folds and the piano play somber notes.

Why do I feel like I’m with you and at the same time so far?

It’s like an invisible force that takes me from the outside

I long to lay with you, no thought and no place to be

Let’s stare up at the blue masses above and then, oh then…

You realize that we are meant to be. That time and space don’t apply to us

The logic and the know how are tomfoolery and all that matters is that

I long to lay with you, no thought and no place to be.

Why do we all look for solace in each other when it’s trying so hard to shine from within?

I do not want to recall when I saw you leave, the earth inside me rumbled and the tectonic plates of my heart shifted because, what if the world takes to you like a bee does honey?

I’ve got to let you go, my love then and only then,

Can I lay with you, no thought and no place to be.
